H.R. 837 — To require the Secretary of Agriculture to convey the Pleasant Valley Ranger District Administrative Site to Gila County, Arizona.

This section directs the Secretary of Agriculture, acting through the Chief of the Forest Service, to convey to Gila County, Arizona, if requested within 180 days of enactment, approximately 232.9 acres of National Forest System land (exact acreage and legal description by survey) comprising the Pleasant Valley Ranger District Administrative Site in the Tonto National Forest, including all improvements, as generally depicted on the map entitled “Pleasant Valley Admin Site Proposal” dated September 23, 2021. The conveyance is by quitclaim deed without consideration; subject to valid existing rights and terms protecting U.S. interests; conditioned on the county paying all associated costs (e.g., survey, environmental analysis, National Historic Preservation Act compliance); restricted to uses serving and supporting Armed Forces veterans, with reversion to the United States at the Secretary's discretion for noncompliance; and exempt from any Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) covenant or warranty regarding hazardous substances (notwithstanding 42 U.S.C. 9620(h)(3)(A)).
