H.R. 8434 — Prevent Endless Wars Act

This section amends sec. 6 of the War Powers Resolution to deny expedited congressional consideration procedures—requiring discharge from committee, limiting debate, and prohibiting amendments—to joint resolutions or bills introduced pursuant to sec. 5(b) (i.e., Authorizations for Use of Military Force, or AUMFs) that authorize use of U.S. Armed Forces for more than five years or an unspecified period. The amendment applies to AUMFs introduced after the date of enactment.
