H.R. 8460 — Territorial Protection and Sovereignty Act

This section repeals Section 244 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, which authorizes the Department of Homeland Security to grant temporary protected status (TPS) to nationals of designated foreign states unable to return safely due to ongoing armed conflict, environmental disaster, or other extraordinary and temporary conditions. It terminates all TPS grants in effect on the date of enactment and requires affected aliens to depart the United States within 60 days thereafter, after which they cease to be considered lawfully present.
