H.R. 8482 — To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to modify certain investment credit rules with respect to nuclear facilities.

This section modifies investment tax credit rules for qualified nuclear facilities (as defined in IRC §48E(b)(3)(A)) that produce electricity using nuclear energy by (1) permitting an election to claim the clean electricity investment credit notwithstanding the public utility property limitation under IRC §50(d)(2) and (2) exempting such facilities from the progress expenditure limitation on transferable credits under IRC §6418(g)(4). The changes apply to taxable years beginning after December 31, 2026.
