H.R. 8505 — Veterinary Education Equity Act

This section expands eligibility for the Veterinary Services Grant Program—under which the Department of Agriculture provides competitive grants to train veterinarians and veterinary technicians to address shortages in food supply veterinary medicine (i.e., for livestock, poultry, and aquaculture)—to include 1890 Institutions (i.e., the 19 historically Black land-grant universities). It further directs the Secretary to give higher priority to grant projects at 1890 Institutions.
