H.R. 8554 — Defense Community Infrastructure Program Revisions Act

This section expands eligibility under the Defense Community Infrastructure Pilot Program—under which the Department of Defense provides grants, cooperative agreements, and other support for off-base infrastructure projects (e.g., utilities, roads, and emergency services) benefiting military installations and surrounding communities—to include Coast Guard installations under the Department of Homeland Security by (1) requiring the Secretary of Defense, for Coast Guard-related projects, to obtain the concurrence of the Coast Guard Commandant on project selection and prioritization; (2) making such grants available to support any Coast Guard mission authorized under section 888 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 468); and (3) defining "military installation," for these purposes, to include Coast Guard installations.
