H.R. 8556 — Homegrown Defense Act of 2026

This section directs the Inspector General of the Department of Defense to conduct audits, not later than 90 days after enactment and quarterly thereafter, assessing department compliance with domestic sourcing requirements for foodstuffs under 10 U.S.C. §4862(b)(1)(A). The Inspector General must submit a report on the results of each audit to the House and Senate Armed Services Committees within 60 days after completing the audit.
