H.R. 8567 — UNLEADED Act

This section establishes an education program, to be implemented not later than one year after enactment, to inform general aviation pilots, flight schools, airport managers and operators, aircraft maintenance technicians, fixed-base operators, and other community members about unleaded aviation gasoline authorized for use in aircraft and engines. The program requires the FAA Administrator to publish on a website information on compatibility, the status of all unleaded variants under evaluation, estimated availability dates, required supplemental type certificates, safety, and any federal incentives or tax credits; maintain a continuously updated public authorization tracking mechanism; ensure ongoing public access for flight instructors, fixed-base operators, aircraft owners, pilots, and the general public; coordinate annual training with industry and fuel providers on fuel handling differences; and may use existing partnerships such as the EAGLE Initiative. The program terminates on December 31, 2036. Not later than six months after establishment and periodically thereafter until termination, the Administrator must brief the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation on website update frequency, evaluation progress, and annual unleaded versus 100LL fuel sales volumes.
