H.R. 8594 — Congressional Gold Medal For Inspiring Great Heroism and Tenacity (FIGHT) Act

This section sets forth nine congressional findings recognizing the responses of President Trump, the United States Secret Service, and local law enforcement to incidents of violence against President Trump on July 13, 2024, in Butler, Pennsylvania (where attendee Corey Comperatore was killed); September 15, 2024, in West Palm Beach, Florida; and April 25, 2026, at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington, DC, and attributing such incidents to escalating violent political rhetoric.

This section authorizes the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President pro tempore of the Senate to arrange for the award, on behalf of Congress, of three Congressional Gold Medals of appropriate design—(1) one to President Donald John Trump for public display as he sees appropriate; (2) one to the United States Secret Service for display in the United States Secret Service Museum; and (3) one to the United States Secret Service's local law enforcement partners for display at the National Law Enforcement Museum.

This section directs the Secretary of the Treasury to strike a gold medal with suitable emblems, devices, and inscriptions for the award described in section 3 and authorizes the Secretary to strike and sell bronze duplicates at a price sufficient to cover costs, including labor, materials, dies, use of machinery, and overhead expenses.

This section designates medals struck under this Act as (1) national medals for purposes of chapter 51 of title 31, United States Code, and (2) numismatic items for purposes of sections 5134 and 5136 of title 31, United States Code.

This section authorizes the use of amounts from the United States Mint Public Enterprise Fund, as necessary, to pay the costs of medals struck under this Act and requires deposit of proceeds from the sale of duplicate bronze medals into that fund.
