No CRS summary available for this bill.
This section directs the Secretary of the Interior to convey to Doyon, Limited all right, title, and interest in approximately 21,578 acres of federal land in the preserve area of Denali National Park and Preserve, more particularly described as sections 1 to 36, T. 11 S., R. 20 W., Fairbanks Meridian, Alaska, not later than one year after the date of enactment, subject to valid existing rights. The conveyance excludes lots 1 and 2 in sections 31 and 32 and land underlying Chilchukabena Lake and an unnamed lake, reserves public easements required under section 17(b) of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, and treats the land as conveyed under section 14(h)(8) of that Act. Doyon, Limited may not alienate or transfer the land except to the United States, authorize mining or mineral activities, or permit development that would derogate the cultural value of the Geese House. The Secretary must adjust the boundary of Denali National Park and Preserve to exclude the conveyed land and match the proposed boundary depicted on the referenced map.
This section exempts the conveyance of Federal land authorized under section 2 from the requirements of 43 C.F.R. part 2650 (or successor regulations) and from any past or existing withdrawals that may apply to the land. It also authorizes the Secretary of the Interior, with the written approval of Doyon, Limited, to make minor corrections to the survey and legal description of the conveyed land to fix clerical, typographical, or surveying errors.
