H.R. 8679 — To amend title 38, United States Code, to require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to transmit a veteran's history of opioid prescriptions to a Community Care health care provider.

This section revises standards for the transmission of Department of Veterans Affairs health care records to require the Secretary to transmit a covered veteran’s opioid prescription history to any non-Department provider furnishing care under section 1703, and to do so through a Third Party Administrator. The section also defines “Third Party Administrator” by reference to the meaning given in section 1703B.
