H.R. 8707 — No Funds for Iran War Act

This section prohibits the obligation or expenditure of federal funds for any use of military force in or against Iran from the date of enactment through December 31, 2026, unless Congress declares war or enacts specific statutory authorization after the date of enactment. The prohibition does not apply to uses of force consistent with section 2(c) of the War Powers Resolution or necessary to defend the United States or an ally or partner from imminent attack, provided the President complies with the reporting requirements of section 5(b) of the War Powers Resolution.
