H.R. 8764 — TREAT PTSD TRICARE Act

This section requires the Secretary of Defense to furnish stellate ganglion block to any member of the Armed Forces (including reserve components) who is enrolled in TRICARE, has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, and elects to receive the treatment after being informed of its risks and benefits. The Secretary may provide the treatment through a Department of Defense medical facility or a qualified health care provider participating in TRICARE. This section also directs the Secretary to update the VA/DOD Clinical Practice Guideline for the Management of PTSD within 180 days of enactment to reflect stellate ganglion block as a therapy option and to include information on its clinical indicators and contraindications, and to notify the congressional defense committees of the update. The new requirement takes effect 180 days after the date of enactment.
