H.R. 934 — Chinese Spy Balloon Assessment Act

This section directs the Secretary of Defense, in consultation with the President, to submit to the Senate and House Armed Services Committees, not later than 90 days after enactment, a report on the national security effects of surveillance conducted by the People's Republic of China using the high-altitude surveillance balloon shot down over the United States in February 2023. The report must include (1) a description of any such effects on military installations, and (2) an analysis of any technology and materials recovered from the balloon, including each country of origin if determinable. The report is submitted in unclassified form but may include a classified annex.
