H.R. 968 — Time of Service Act

This section eliminates the time limitation for use of entitlement under the Department of Veterans Affairs Post-9/11 Educational Assistance Program (Post-9/11 GI Bill) by amending 38 U.S.C. 3321(a)(1) and (2) to change specified dates to January 1, 2001 (from January 1, 2013). (As background, the program provides up to 36 months of financial assistance for tuition, housing, books, and supplies to eligible post-9/11 veterans, service members, and dependents pursuing approved education and training; previously, certain entitlements expired no later than January 1, 2013, regardless of individual circumstances.)
