H.Res. 1110 — Expressing the disapproval of the House of Representatives regarding the slaughter of dogs and cats for human consumption and encouraging Japan to enact a nationwide ban on such practices.

This section expresses the sense of the House of Representatives by (1) encouraging Japan to enact a nationwide ban on the slaughter of dogs and cats for human consumption; (2) affirming shared U.S.-Japan values on the protection of companion and service animals; (3) urging continued bilateral cooperation on animal rights and welfare initiatives; (4) stating that it does not seek to interfere with or limit religious or cultural practices protected under domestic or international law; (5) condemning the killing and trafficking of millions of dogs and cats for meat; and (6) commending civil society organizations, including the World Dog Alliance, for advocacy to end the human consumption of dog and cat meat worldwide.
