H.Res. 1179 — Condemning attacks on civilians in Sudan and calling for an end to external support to the warring parties and for efforts to promote a negotiated settlement of the war.

This section expresses the sense of the House of Representatives regarding the conflict in Sudan by—(1) recognizing that all Sudanese people are entitled to safety and security; (2) condemning attacks on civilians, including the RSF's genocidal campaign against non-Arab communities in Darfur, and calling on warring parties to uphold international law obligations to protect civilians and cease attacks on schools, medical facilities, and places of worship; (3) applauding international, national, and local humanitarian organizations' efforts to deliver assistance, and calling on warring parties to grant aid workers unfettered access and ensure their safety; (4) calling on external actors to end material support to the RSF and SAF; (5) calling on the Trump Administration to end external support to warring parties, negotiate an end to the civil war, and restore civilian-led democratic governance; and (6) calling on the international community to prioritize civilian efforts to end the war, assist post-conflict reconstruction and recovery, and support a transitional justice mechanism to address mass killings, sexual violence, and human rights abuses.
