H.Res. 1217 — Expressing support for the citizens of the United Kingdom as they continue to face assaults on their rights to free speech and freedom of expression.

This section expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that (1) Prime Minister Keir Starmer and the Labour Party have violated the rights to freedom of speech and expression of United Kingdom citizens; (2) statements and actions by United Kingdom officials seeking to extradite American citizens for exercising rights to freedom of speech under the U.S. Constitution are condemned; (3) the Trump Administration should employ tariffs, sanctions, visa revocations, and other measures to hold accountable United Kingdom officials acting above the U.S. Constitution; (4) the Trump Administration should refuse to recognize United Kingdom laws or orders infringing on U.S. rights to freedom of speech and expression; (5) in commemoration of the U.S. 250th anniversary, the Founding Fathers fought against a tyrannical government that violated fundamental rights including freedom of speech and expression; and (6) constitutionally protected rights of U.S. citizens take precedence over United Kingdom actions undermining such rights.
