H.Res. 1231 — Supporting the designation of April 29, 2026, as "Denim Day" and honoring survivors of sexual assault.

This section states the sense of the House of Representatives supporting “Denim Day” and related efforts to raise awareness of sexual assault and combat victim-blaming by (1) honoring survivors and affirming their right to live free from violence; (2) expressing solidarity with survivors and supporting their access to comprehensive services; (3) reaffirming that clothing or appearance never constitutes consent and condemning victim-blaming; (4) supporting improvements to reporting, investigation, and prosecution of sexual assault cases; (5) recognizing disparities affecting marginalized populations (e.g., teenagers, women of color, Indigenous communities, individuals with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ individuals); (6) calling on governments to strengthen prevention policies, funding, and programs; (7) urging collaboration among stakeholders to end sexual violence; and (8) calling on the Committee on Rules to allow Members to wear denim on the House floor in recognition of Denim Day.
