H.Res. 1240 — Expressing support for the designation of the week of May 8 through May 17, 2026, as "National American Birding Week".

This section expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that (1) it supports the designation of “National American Birding Week”; (2) birding generates billions in economic benefits annually; (3) migratory bird populations face natural and human-caused threats; (4) it applauds coordinated efforts by Federal, State, and local governments, conservation organizations, and businesses to promote migratory bird conservation and birding-related economic development; and (5) it encourages birders and the public to attend events such as the “Biggest Week in American Birding” to learn about bird migration and support migratory bird preservation.
