H.Res. 1257 — Expressing support for the designation of May 5, 2026, as the "National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls".

This section expresses the sense of the House of Representatives regarding missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls by (1) supporting designation of a “National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls”; (2) calling on the people of the United States and interested groups to commemorate victims’ lives—both documented and undocumented—and demonstrate solidarity with their families; (3) recommending that the Department of Justice’s National Institute of Justice commission a new study with updated data on the crisis, nine years after its 2016 study; and (4) recognizing that additional efforts are needed to address the crisis.
