This section recognizes stroke as a national health crisis requiring immediate, coordinated Federal action and supports the development of a standardized EMS training curriculum for stroke and large vessel occlusion recognition, urges States and regional EMS systems to adopt routing protocols for direct transport of suspected LVO patients to thrombectomy-capable centers, encourages increased Federal and State investment in public stroke education campaigns promoting 9–1–1 activation, calls for transparency in stroke center capabilities and outcomes, affirms equitable access to mechanical thrombectomy and comprehensive stroke care regardless of geographic location, and supports the goals of a World Stroke Thrombectomy Day.
