H.Res. 166 — Expressing support for the Iranian people's desires for a democratic, secular, and nonnuclear Republic of Iran, and condemning the Iranian regime's terrorism, regional proxy war, internal suppression, and for other purposes.

This section condemns the Iranian regime’s warmongering in the Middle East as a source of terrorism and regional instability; affirms the Iranian people’s right to determine their political future under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; calls for sanctions to hold the regime and its leaders accountable and for support of the Iranian opposition and its Ten-Point Plan for a democratic, secular, nonnuclear republic; urges recognition of the rights of Iranian protesters and Resistance Units to confront the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps; and calls on the United States Government, working with Albania, to protect Iranian political refugees at Ashraf 3 under the Geneva Convention of 1951 and the European Convention on Human Rights.
