H.Res. 175 — Recognizing the seriousness of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and expressing support for the designation of the month of September as "PCOS Awareness Month".

This section recognizes polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) as a serious disorder that impacts cardiometabolic, reproductive, and mental health as well as quality of life. It supports the goals and ideals of PCOS Awareness Month to increase awareness of and education about PCOS and its connections to comorbidities such as type 2 diabetes, endometrial cancer, cardiovascular disease, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and mental health disorders among the public, women, girls, and health care professionals; improve diagnosis and treatment; disseminate information on PCOS diagnosis, treatment, and management including prevention of comorbidities; and improve quality of life and outcomes for women and girls with PCOS. The section also recognizes the need for further research, improved treatment and care options, and a cure; acknowledges the struggles affecting women and girls with PCOS in the United States; urges medical researchers and health care professionals to advance understanding of PCOS; and encourages states, territories, and localities to support the goals and ideals of PCOS Awareness Month.
