H.Res. 255 — Of inquiry requesting the President and directing the Secretary of State to transmit to the House of Representatives any record created on or after January 20, 2025, under the control of the President or the Secretary, respectively, relating to strikes on the Houthis in Yemen and the disclosure of confidential information to a journalist on the Signal application.

This section requests the President and directs the Secretary of State to transmit to the House of Representatives, not later than 14 days after adoption of the resolution, all documents, Signal application chats, notes, recordings, records, correspondence, and artificial intelligence large language model transcripts created on or after January 20, 2025, that relate to the Signal group chat involving journalist Jeffrey Goldberg and plans to strike the Houthis in Yemen. The requested materials encompass the full transcript of that chat (including messages before and after Goldberg’s participation), information on the strikes themselves, coordination with partners and allies, legal justifications, any resulting documentation on consequences for officials or new process reforms and safeguards, and any other group chats used to develop war plans or discuss sensitive national security information.
