This section recognizes the deadly impact of colorectal cancer on the American people, expresses support for National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, acknowledges racial disparities in colorectal cancer screening for the Hispanic community, encourages the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to identify factors causing such disparities and develop strategies to reduce and eliminate them, encourages the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to research environmental factors and the National Institutes of Health to research factors causing elevated risk in young adults, encourages individuals to learn about their risk and consult health care providers about screening, and honors patients, survivors, caregivers, and advocates affected by colorectal cancer.
