H.Res. 293 — Providing for the announcement of pairs from a written list furnished to the Clerk, and for other purposes.

This section establishes procedures for announcing pairs—agreements between absent Members to offset opposing votes—during votes in the House or Committee of the Whole during the 119th Congress. The Clerk announces pairs from a written list furnished and signed by the Member immediately before the Chair announces the vote result; the list is published in the Congressional Record immediately following the names of those not voting; and pairs are announced only once per legislative day.
