H.Res. 302 — Of inquiry requesting the President and directing the Secretaries of the Treasury and Labor to transmit, respectively, certain documents to the House of Representatives relating to the effect on local economies and communities of the Department of Government Efficiency and newly-imposed tariffs.

This section requests the President of the United States and directs the Secretaries of the Treasury and Labor to transmit to the House of Representatives, not later than 14 days after adoption of the resolution, copies of any documents relating to (1) reductions in local area gross domestic product from mass layoffs of Federal workers and lease terminations recommended by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), including at the Internal Revenue Service and Social Security offices; (2) the number of unemployed workers, unemployment rate increases, unemployment duration, total unemployment claims, and impacts on Federal unemployment insurance performance measurements since January 20, 2025, in communities affected by reductions in force, DOGE terminations of probationary employees, or large Federal contract terminations, reported separately by State, region, or locality; and (3) projected changes in the cost of imported goods subject to tariffs imposed on Canada, Mexico, or any other country since January 20, 2025, at the national, State, regional, or local level.
