This section supports policies that recognize mothers as mothers, acknowledges that Mother’s Day is intended specifically to commemorate motherhood and honor the mothers of the United States, recognizes the importance of motherhood and the contributions of mothers to the family, community, States, and country, and encourages the people of the United States to observe Mother’s Day in celebration of mothers.
