H.Res. 418 — Ride-Along Resolution

This section requires each Member of the House of Representatives, including Delegates and Resident Commissioners, to participate in one ride-along in the Member’s congressional district once during each term, beginning with the 118th Congress. A ride-along consists of serving one shift in the passenger seat of a law enforcement vehicle to observe the workday of a local law enforcement officer. The Committee on House Administration must issue regulations to implement the requirement, and the Committee on Ethics must publish the names of noncompliant Members on a public list on its website and in the Congressional Record.
