This section recognizes the importance of California’s public higher education systems in driving the state’s economy and the United States’ status as a world-leading economy; acknowledges the systems’ work providing students from traditionally underserved and low-income communities with opportunities for educational attainment, economic growth, and personal and professional development; commends student inventions and achievements advancing technological, educational, and social progress; and reaffirms the House of Representatives’ commitment to supporting the University of California, the California State University, and the California Community Colleges.
