This section expresses the sense of the House of Representatives regarding attacks on Minnesota state legislators in Brooklyn Park and Champlin on June 14, 2025, by (1) condemning the attacks; (2) honoring the lives of Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark Hortman; (3) honoring Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette Hoffman, who were shot and critically injured, and wishing their full recovery; (4) honoring law enforcement officers for their rapid response and apprehension of the suspect on June 15, 2025; (5) calling on community leaders and elected officials to denounce political violence; and (6) calling on the people of the United States to unite in reaffirming commitment to a safe, civil, and peaceful democracy without violent rhetoric or acts.
