This section expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that adaptations to and protections from extreme weather conditions must be developed and deployed rapidly and equitably, with consideration for the physical and mental health needs of current and future generations of young people, and that legislation and funding addressing such adaptations must include considerations and solutions tailored to the unique vulnerabilities of babies, children, adolescents, and their families. This section further expresses the sense that adaptive measures may include public alerts for events such as hazardous air quality, wildfires, extreme heat, storms, or flooding; mutual aid networks and community resilience programs; language-accessible information campaigns; professional training and school guidance on child vulnerabilities; air filtration systems and infrastructure upgrades in homes, schools, and child care facilities; expanded access to shaded green space, cooling centers, and safe indoor spaces; critical supplies for infants including diapers, formula, and feeding kits; child-sized masks; and hydration stations.
