This section expresses the sense of the House of Representatives by (1) supporting the designation of National Food is Medicine Day; (2) highlighting the role of healthy food in American well-being; (3) recognizing food as a healthcare tool to prevent, manage, and treat clinical conditions; (4) recognizing food is medicine interventions as a complement to population-level nutrition supports; (5) urging the Department of Health and Human Services to sustain research on such interventions; (6) urging the Department of Health and Human Services to collaborate with the Department of Agriculture; and (7) urging the Department of Health and Human Services to scale food is medicine initiatives with patients, practitioners, providers, and payors.
