This section expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that (1) it supports the designation of National Marine Sanctuary Day; (2) the people of the United States and the world should responsibly visit, experience, recreate in, and support U.S. national marine sanctuaries; (3) such sanctuaries provide recreational opportunities and contribute to local and national economies; (4) such sanctuaries support conservation, public access to waters, and cultural preservation; (5) the National Marine Sanctuary System protects nationally significant ocean and Great Lakes places; and (6) federal agencies should balance priorities and support the Marine Protection, Research, and Sanctuaries Act of 1972 (33 U.S.C. 1401 et seq.).
