H.Res. 848 — Supporting the role of the United States in helping save the lives of children and protecting the health of people in low-income countries with vaccines and immunization through Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance ("Gavi").

This section states the sense of the House of Representatives regarding U.S. support for Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance (i.e., a public-private partnership that increases access to vaccines in low-income countries), by—(1) affirming the cost-effective role of U.S.-funded vaccine purchases through Gavi in reducing mortality and meeting goals to end preventable child and maternal deaths; (2) supporting Gavi principles to introduce and scale immunizations, improve program sustainability, ensure healthy vaccine markets, and strengthen health systems; (3) recognizing U.S. support for Gavi as critical to U.S. health security; (4) encouraging use of Department of State and CDC resources to build local capacity for Gavi-supported vaccines; (5) recognizing the need for multiyear U.S. pledges to maximize Gavi's impact and leverage other donors; and (6) encouraging increased U.S. commitment to Gavi during the 2026-2030 strategic period.
