H.Res. 899 — Supporting the goals and principles of Transgender Day of Remembrance by recognizing the epidemic of violence toward transgender people and memorializing the lives lost this year.

This section expresses the sense of the House of Representatives by (1) supporting the goals and principles of Transgender Day of Remembrance, recognizing violence toward transgender people, and memorializing lives lost this year; (2) recognizing increased violence against transgender Americans, particularly transgender women of color, as unacceptable and prioritizing solutions; (3) supporting efforts to study, respond to, and prevent such violence; (4) affirming basic human rights for every person; (5) recognizing the bravery and resilience of the transgender community; and (6) recognizing the transgender community's contributions and cultural impact on American society.
