H.Res. 902 — Providing for consideration of the bill (H.R. 185) to advance responsible policies.

This section directs the House, immediately upon adoption of the resolution, to proceed to consideration of H.R. 185; waives all points of order against the bill and its consideration; deems as adopted the amendment in the nature of a substitute specified in section 4 of the resolution; deems the bill, as amended, as read; and waives all points of order against its provisions. It further orders the previous question on the bill, as amended, and any further amendment thereto, to final passage without intervening motion except (1) one hour of debate equally divided and controlled by the majority leader and minority leader or their designees and (2) one motion to recommit.

This section establishes consumer protections governing agent- or broker-assisted enrollment in qualified health plans through certain Exchanges for plan years beginning on or after a date specified by the HHS Secretary, but not later than January 1, 2029. (As background, Exchanges are marketplaces established under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act through which individuals and small businesses select qualified health plans, often with premium tax credits for eligible enrollees.)
