H.Res. 909 — Recognizing that immigrant justice and reproductive justice are inseparable and must be pursued together.

This section expresses the sense of the House of Representatives on reproductive justice and immigrant justice by (1) affirming their inseparability and the need for policies centered on lived experiences; (2) affirming Congress's role in oversight of treatment of detainees, including pregnant individuals; (3) affirming the dignity of all immigrants and denouncing denial of health care or rights based on immigration status; (4) condemning immigration detention, coerced or denied reproductive health care (including sterilization, abortion, and contraception), and related government controls; (5) condemning restrictions on immigrant health care coverage; (6) calling to eliminate the five-year bar and categorical exclusions on immigrant access to federal health programs, including Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program, and Affordable Care Act coverage; (7) calling on the Secretary of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection to permanently reinstate protective status for pregnant individuals; (8) calling on those entities to implement oversight and accountability for reproductive health care quality in detention facilities; (9) calling on the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Office of Refugee Resettlement to ensure unaccompanied immigrant youth access needed health care, including abortion, without delay regardless of state; (10) requesting those entities to assess barriers to reproductive health care in custody; (11) affirming the right to comprehensive reproductive health care regardless of immigration status; and (12) calling on the Secretary of Homeland Security to report all internal detention reports to Congress.
