H.Res. 919 — Commemorating and supporting the goals of World AIDS Day.

This section expresses the sense of the House of Representatives supporting global efforts to achieve zero new HIV transmissions, zero discrimination, and zero AIDS-related deaths by 2030, including by (1) encouraging dissemination of U=U (Undetectable=Untransmittable) information; (2) commending U.S. programs such as the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act of 2009, the Minority HIV/AIDS Initiative, the Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS Program, and agencies including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and National Institutes of Health, as well as international efforts by PEPFAR, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS; (3) supporting continued funding for HIV prevention, care, treatment, and research; (4) urging expansion of antiretroviral treatment and prevention programs, especially for children and disproportionately impacted communities; (5) encouraging comprehensive prevention services, including new long-acting pre-exposure prophylaxis; (6) supporting research into HIV vaccines, cures, and comorbidities such as sexually transmitted infections and tuberculosis; (7) calling for focus on HIV vulnerabilities of women and girls; (8) supporting U.S. leadership in HIV efforts; (9) encouraging civil society input with transparency measures; (10) promoting ownership by developing countries; and (11) urging international financial contributions to combat HIV.
