S. 1004 — Pregnant and Postpartum Women Treatment Reauthorization Act

This section reauthorizes grants for residential treatment programs for pregnant and postpartum women through FY2029 (from FY2023) and increases the authorization of appropriations to $38.931 million annually (from $29.931 million for FY2019-FY2023). The section also (1) replaces "health services" with "health care services" in the criteria for certain eligible entities; and (2) revises application requirements to specify that grantees will provide a plan describing services, which may include targeting outreach to women disproportionately impacted by maternal substance use disorder. (The program supports public and nonprofit entities in establishing or expanding residential treatment facilities that provide substance use disorder treatment to pregnant and postpartum women and their children.)
