S. 1048 — Connecting Small Businesses with Career and Technical Education Graduates Act

This section (1) defines the term "career and technical education" in the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. 632) by cross-reference to the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 (20 U.S.C. 2302); (2) authorizes Small Business Development Centers to assist small business concerns in hiring graduates from career and technical education programs or programs of study and to assist such graduates in starting small business concerns; and (3) authorizes Women’s Business Centers to provide the same assistance. (As background, Small Business Development Centers provide training and counseling to existing and prospective small business owners nationwide, and Women’s Business Centers focus similar services on women entrepreneurs.)
