This section revises the Medicare definition of physician to include doctors of chiropractic licensed by the state for all services authorized by their license (previously limited to chiropractors legally authorized to perform manual manipulation of the spine to correct a subluxation). It further conditions Part B payment for such chiropractic services on a one-time Secretary verification that the doctor attended an educational documentation webinar or similar electronic product (or the services are manual manipulation of the spine to correct a subluxation). (Thus, Medicare beneficiaries may access, and Part B may cover, a broader scope of chiropractic services—e.g., exams and therapies within state-licensed practice—subject to the documentation requirement.)
