S. 1112 — Big Bend National Park Boundary Adjustment Act

This section defines, for purposes of the Act, (1) “map” as the map entitled “Big Bend National Park, Proposed Boundary Adjustment”, numbered 155/167,296, and dated November 2022; (2) “Park” as the Big Bend National Park established under the Act of June 20, 1935 (16 U.S.C. 156); and (3) “Secretary” as the Secretary of the Interior.

This section authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to acquire approximately 6,100 acres of land or interests in land, as generally depicted on the specified map, for Big Bend National Park by donation or exchange. Upon acquisition, the Secretary must revise the park boundary to include the land and administer it as part of the park under applicable laws and regulations; the section prohibits the use of eminent domain or condemnation and requires the map to be available for public inspection in appropriate National Park Service offices.
