S. 1132 — Families Care Act

This section amends the National Family Caregiver Support Program by (1) adding peer supports to the list of authorized services in subsection (b)(3), after individual counseling; (2) revising the subsection (c) heading to "priority; consideration" and requiring states, in providing services, to consider the unique needs of different caregivers, including children and their older relative caregivers affected by substance use disorder (including opioid use disorder); and (3) in subsection (e), requiring the Assistant Secretary for Aging to conduct evaluations on a regular basis (from not later than 1 year after enactment of the program) and to prepare, publish, and disseminate related resource information (from make available).
