S. 1143 — Stop Supreme Court Leakers Act of 2025

This section establishes a new criminal offense at 18 U.S.C. §1522 prohibiting Supreme Court officers or employees from knowingly disclosing confidential information (i.e., internal notes on cases; communications between justices and staff, or among staff on pending matters; draft or unreleased final opinions; nonpublic personal information of justices; or Chief Justice-designated information). Violations are punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment and a fine under title 18, except disclosures of internal notes, which carry only a $10,000 fine. The section also (1) authorizes criminal forfeiture for §1522 convictions by amending 18 U.S.C. §982(a)(2)(B) and (2) updates the table of contents for chapter 73 of title 18.
