S. 1152 — Rhode Island Fishermen's Fairness Act of 2025

This section modifies the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council by (1) adding Rhode Island to the list of constituent states, (2) adding Rhode Island to the states excepted from the council's authority over Atlantic Ocean fisheries seaward of such states, (3) increasing voting members to 23 (from 21), and (4) increasing Secretary-appointed voting members to 14 (from 13). (Thus, Rhode Island gains representation on the council, which develops fishery management plans for federal waters primarily seaward of New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia.)
