S. 1234 — SSI Savings Penalty Elimination Act

This section increases the resource limits for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) eligibility—cash benefits for low-income aged, blind, or disabled individuals—to $10,000 for an individual without a spouse (from $2,000) and $20,000 for an individual with a spouse (from $3,000), effective calendar year 2025. It further establishes annual inflation adjustments to these limits for calendar years after 2025 based on the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U, U.S. city average).
