S. 1504 — Claiming Age Clarity Act

This section directs the Commissioner of Social Security, not later than January 1, 2027, to replace specified terms in all Social Security Administration rules, regulations, guidance, and materials (online or in print) relating to retirement benefit eligibility ages. Specifically, it (1) replaces "early eligibility age" (i.e., age 62, when reduced benefits may first be claimed) with "minimum monthly benefit age"; (2) replaces "full retirement age" and "normal retirement age" (i.e., ages 66-67, when unreduced benefits are available) with "standard monthly benefit age"; and (3) eliminates "delayed retirement credit" (i.e., benefit increases for delaying past full retirement age) and replaces references to age 70 as the maximum age for such credits with "maximum monthly benefit age".
