S. 153 — Repeal the TikTok Ban Act

This section repeals the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act (15 U.S.C. 9901 note; division H of Public Law 118-50), which authorized the President to designate certain social media applications controlled by foreign adversaries (i.e., China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, or Venezuela) and prohibit their distribution in the U.S. unless divested. It further declares that any such designations of websites, desktop applications, mobile applications, or augmented/immersive technology applications have no force or effect.
